George A Mexal, 75, a resident of Spofford Ave in Lakewood for 30 years, died yesterday in Mount Vernon, N.Y. after a brief illness.
Mr Mexal, husband of the late Charlotte (Corrigan) Mexal, left Warwich three years ago to live with his son, James, in Mount Vernon. He retired in 1953 after being employed 50 years by the New Haven Railroad as a car retarder operator.
Mr Mexal was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Providence Lodge 15, BPOE. Besides his son, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Pansy Larkin of Harwich, Mass. and two grandchildren in Mount Vernon.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning, at a time to be announced, from Peter J Barrett Funeral Home at 1328 Warwich Ave., Spring Green, with a requiem Mass in St Peter's Church, Pawtuxet. Burial will be in St Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
