Charlotte was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Dunbar Corrigan. She was one of four children. Charlotte married George Anthony Mexal in Rhode Island on 6 Dec 1904.

Charlotte and her husband, George, had one son, James Rene Mexal.

Charlotte Mexal's obituary appeared in the Providence Journal on 4 May 1954.
It read:
WARWICK
Mrs George A Mexal
Mrs Charlotte Elizabeth (Corrigan) Mexal, a resident of Warwick for 27 years, died yesterday at her home 110 Spofford Ave Lakewood, after a short illness.
Mrs Mexal was born in Cloughler, County Tyrone, Ireland, a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Dunbar) Corrigan. She came to Providence as a young girl.
She is survived by her husband, George A Mexal; a son, James R of Mount Vernon, NY; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Radigan of Warwick.
Her funeral will be held tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. from the Peter J Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warick Ave, Spring Green, with a requieum Mass at 9 o'clock at St Peter's Church, Pawtuxet. Burial will be in the St Francis Cmemtery, Pawtucket.
