Fred William Conner, 86, of Seymour passed away Thursday, January 8, 2004 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center.

Fred was a longtime member of the Seymour United Methodist Church. He had lived most of his life in the Seymour area and had graduated from the Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy and during WWII he served his country as a Marine.

Waiting for Fred to join them in heaven are his parents, Squire W. L. and Hettie Tarwater Conner; brothers, Roy and Claude Conner; sisters, Estelle Norton and Lucille Cole.

Leaving behind to mourn his passing, is his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Loretta Gossett Conner. Besides his wife Fred leaves several nieces, nephews and a host of friends whose life he has touched during his stay on this earth.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Boyds Creek Cemetery with Rev. Rae Mullen officiating. Interment will follow the service. The American Legion Post # 104 will perform military rites. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10 in the Davis Room of Rawlings Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Seymour United Methodist Church or Trundles Crossroads Cemetery.
