Simmonds, Elva Miles, child of Mr. and Mrs. Del Simmonds. "Brown County World", Friday, Jan. 20, 1899, Willis News, Del Simmonds buried one of his twin children, aged about four years at Claytonville.
"The Willis Journal", Jan 20, 1899, Elva Simmonds, the youngest son of A.E. Simmonds, died at their home 1 1/2 miles east of Willis, of membraneous croup on Sunday, Jan. 15, aged 2 years, 5 months and 25 days. The remains were interred in the Claytonville cemetery. (A.E. Simmonds or Del Simmonds is probably Adelbert Simmonds, son of Miles Simmonds.] Brown Co., Kans., marriages, Delbert E. Simmonds, 19 and Phebe Hubbs, b. 1860 in Ill. was the daughter of Simeon Hubbs and Mahalia Green, who were married in Pike co. Ill. on Aug. 15, 1847.
