The funeral took place from the family residence, on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, under the auspices of the Elks lodge, of which Mr. Casto was a member. It was largely attended by our citizens, the Elks marching in a body from their hall to the residence, and the members of the bar meeting at the courthouse and proceeding there in carriages.
The ceremonies were very beautiful and impressive. At the house short addresses were delivered by Rev. Ringland and Revs. H.O. Scott and L.P. Rose.
At the grave, Rev Scott made a brief address, after which Chaplain Lane and Exalted Ruler Dr. Lynn delivered the Elks' ritualistic consolation to friends, and committed the body to rest in the bosom of the earth from which it came.
The floral offerings of the Elks, the bar association, and other friends were very fine.
This being the first occurrence of a funeral in the ranks of the Elks in the city, the officers deserve great credit for the manner in which they conducted the beautiful ritualistic services of the Order.
