Artist, potter- She received a teaching degree from Rochester Normal School,BA Greeley, CO, bookbinder, San Francisco, Carmel newspaper writer,puppet teacher. During the 1930s she was a WPA artist. She took ceramics classes at the CA School of Fine Arts in San Francisco with Margaret Gravandar. She was a pupil of Glen Lukens at USC. She was offered a teaching fellowship at Alfred College in NY where she received her MFA. She then opened a studio in Greenwich Village. She and her husband, Otto, moved to LA in 1952 where Vivika taught at USC and Chouinard Art Institute until 1967. She was also a technical adviser for 20th Century Fox Studios. She then taught at the RI School of Design in Providence for 5 yrs. before moving to Ojai, CA with her husband. She died just 4 days after being diagnosed with cancer of the liver. She was the D/O Edward L. and Edna Clark Place. She first married Arthur William Henderson, S/O William and Viola Smith Henderson , in 1932. Her first marriage was to UNK Timeriasieff. She married Otto Heino in 1950.
