Mrs. Madge Sowell Dodson Alderson, 83, homemaker and longtime resident of Water Valley Community, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Roy Dodson and Janie Sowell Dodson. She was married to Paul E. “Pete” Alderson who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church and the Water Valley Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include two sons, Norris (Susan) Alderson of Laurel, Maryland; David (Elaine) Alderson of Water Valley Community; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Church of Gallatin; Mrs. Faye (Ray) Locke of Columbia; one brother, Madison Dodson of Columbia; three grandchildren, Anthony Alderson, Brian (Beth) Alderson, Beth Alderson; and three great grandchildren, Kaitlin Alderson, Taylor Alderson, and Grant Alderson.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Dodson.
Pallbearers will be Joel Locke, Jerry Dodson, Harold Malugin, Henry Harris, Everett Stewart, Dwight Maxwell, James Grayland Huey and Winfred Baker.
