Funeral services for Mrs. Avo Lou Grant 81 of Beachgrove, TN and formerly of Cookeville will be held Saturday July 21 at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow Woodcilft Cemetery. Rev. John Wood will officiate.
Mrs. Grant died Friday morning July 19, 2012 in the Summit Medical Center in Hermitage.
She was born August 7, 1930 in Cumberland County, Tennessee to the late Marion Baxter and Stella Mae Hamby Elmore.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Nashville and retired from Eagle Furniture.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Grant, two brothers, Daniel Elmore and Marion (Junior) Elmore; and four sisters, Jeweline McGunnis, Wilma Hodge, Carolyn Sue Stephens, and Norma Jean Dowdy.
Survivors include two brothers, Billy Ray Elmore of Crossville and James (Joan) Elmore of Mt. Juliet; step-son, Jason Gran t of Cookeville; several nieces and nephews and friend, Bernice Bradley.
Family and friend will serve as pallbearers.
