son of the late William Kuck and Sophia Ferleman. Born Van Buren Twp, Shelby Co. (UCC church records)

"W. Henry's parents were W. H. Kuck and Sophia Ferlemann. W. Henry's mother (Sophia) died young and his dad remarried and moved near "Fredens Geminde" on the road to Botkins. W. Henry Kuck was reared to around 13 years at his Ferleman Grandparents home who lived where George Holtkamp used to live. Now owned by William Holtkamp. He later worked for Herman Lammers till he got married and moved on the farm where he was born. His sister, Anna, who later married Ben Vornholt lived with them for a while. W. Henry's wife died when Jake was 9 days or so old and he was taken to his Grandmother, Mrs. Ernst Schroer, who also had a son a little bit older than Jake [ed. note - George Jacob Schroer, b. 07 Oct 1888]and she nursed both boys. Jake's mother's name was Lena Schroer. W. Henry remarried 4/12/1890 to Louise Schroer Fledderjohann who had a daughter Elizabeth who later married Ed Holl.

Louise Schroer Fledderjohann died in May 1917. In the summer
or fall of 1918 Bertha got T.B. W. Henry took her to a sanitarium at Brush, Colorado, which was not far from where Jake lived. She died in Dec. 1918 and was sent home to New Knoxville for burial. In April 1919 W. Henry had a sale as Frances also had T.B. and went to the Lima T.B. Hospital. Ewald and W. Henry came to live with Martin and Lydia. Frances seemed improved and went to live
with Ed Holl's. She died 12 Sep 1920.

Dec. 16, 1926, W. Henry married Wilhelmina Feldwisch, the
mother of Louise Henschen (Mrs. Herman A. Henschen) and they lived
together till July 1936 when he died.
These notes were found with Lydia E. (Wierwille) Kuck's
papers."

The grandmother who nursed her son and grandson at the same time was Christina Sophia Elisabeth Katterheinrich Schroer. She was Clem Stienecker's grandmother. She was the wife of Ernst Heinrich Schroer, who was the son of Christina Elsabein Fiegenbaum. from R.Meyer
