Richard Patton, 91, of Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty, and formerly of Belle Center, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Heartland of Indian Lake.

He was born in Belle Center on Sept. 25, 1915, a son of the late J. Carl and Maude Bowman Patton. He also was preceded in death by sisters, Martha Stout, Eileen Alloway and Janie Bloom; and two granddaughters.

On Aug. 9, 1936, he married the former Wanda Stephenson in Belle Center and she survives, along with three sons, Don (Judy) Patton of Belle Center, Joe (Birt) Patton of Naples, Fla., and Stephen (Connie) Patton of Pleasant Hill; daughter, Kay Shroyer of Largo, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

A lifetime farmer, he was a member of the Christ Covenant Church in Bellefontaine.

Pastor Paul Ramsey conducts a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Belle Center, where calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Covenant Church and Green Hills Retirement Community.
