FREDERICK, Md. - Richard Wayne "Dick" Tritapoe, 64, of Frederick, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy, Md.

Born Nov. 7, 1938, in Washington County, he was the son of Rhoda E. Younkins Tritapoe, of Reeders Nursing Home, Boonsboro, and the late Calvin T. Tritapoe Sr.

He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He worked for Hood College, Frederick, retiring in 2000 after 22 years.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.

He was a member of AF&AM Masonic Lodge 058, Frederick. He coached T-Ball and Minor League Baseball teams in Brunswick, Md.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ethel A. Wright Tritapoe; one son, Michael W. Tritapoe of Crisfield, Md.; two sisters, Eileen Bayles of Frederick, and Patricia Mohler of Brunswick; three brothers, Edward Tritapoe of Knoxville, James Tritapoe of Brownsville, and William Tritapoe of Boonsboro, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin T. Tritapoe Jr.

Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick. The Revs. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. and Larry L. Eubanks will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kline Hospice House, c/o Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
