He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley E. and Bertha Abbott; sister, Elna Abbott Joyner . Survivors: children, John W. Abbott of Maryville, Tina M. Abbott of Friendsville, Darren L. Abbott of Maryville; two grandchildren, Blake Austin Abbott and Lauren Nicole Abbott; brothers, Lendel D. Abbott and Tommy D. Abbott, both of Maryville; sisters, Delores Abbott Coada, Judy Abbott Hill and Mylanda Abbott, all of Maryville. Funeral service 8 p.m. Monday, August 2, 1999, Smith Mortuary Chapel with Rev. David Hutsell officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 1999, in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.
