Benjamin Oulitshky/Oulitzky (later shortened to Olitt) attended the University of Nancy in France with his brother Philippe. The 2 brothers met 2 cousins at the university. Ben married Etia Kelmanovitch and Philippe married Zlotta Kelmanovitch.

Etia & Ben joined the Kelmanovitch-Krichesky family in Portland, Oregon in 1912 and brought her parents Sobil and Gadolys Kellmenovitch with them. Etia & Ben had 2 children--Arny (born in 1913) and Charlotte (born in 1915).

According to ellisisland.org, Etia & Ben departed Cherbourg, France on the ship Wilhelm der Grosse and arrived in New York on September 26, 1912. The last place they lived before coming to the U.S. was Geneva, Switzerland.

Ben, an electrician, died following electrocution by "a short circuit at the Columbia substation of the Portland Railway, Light & Power Company at Vancouver Avenue and Columbia Boulevard" in Portland, Oregon, according to an article in the Oregonian.
