He married Hannah Rebecca Brough on January 22, 1869 in Mound City, KS. 1870/1880 Census shows Farmers that owned 160 acres at 745 S Margrave in Ft Scott, KS. They had three children in 10 years. He died on December 11, 1897, in Fort Scott, Kansas, at the age of 66, and was buried there.
