Funeral services for William Ezell, 87, of Hopkinsvlle, were held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Lamb Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. Bro. Greg Giltner officiated. Internment followed in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Lamb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ezell died at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012, in Hopkinsville.

He was born on July 13, 1924, in Davidson County, Tenn., to the late Jesse Lee Ezell and Mable Fentress.

William Ezell was a United States Army veteran. He had worked in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was also a member of the masons and shriners.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Puckett Ezell; and one son, William "Bill" Ezell, Jr.

He is survived by two sons, James "Jim" Lee Ezell and Gary Wayne Ezell, both of Hopkinsville; five daughters, Kay Prince of Cadiz, Linda Nelson of Memphis, Tenn., Jo Ann Darnell of Clarksville, Tenn., Sherry Castile of Hopkinsville and Janet Blanford of Concord, N.C.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
