Mr. Ezell died at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012, in Hopkinsville.
He was born on July 13, 1924, in Davidson County, Tenn., to the late Jesse Lee Ezell and Mable Fentress.
William Ezell was a United States Army veteran. He had worked in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was also a member of the masons and shriners.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Puckett Ezell; and one son, William "Bill" Ezell, Jr.
He is survived by two sons, James "Jim" Lee Ezell and Gary Wayne Ezell, both of Hopkinsville; five daughters, Kay Prince of Cadiz, Linda Nelson of Memphis, Tenn., Jo Ann Darnell of Clarksville, Tenn., Sherry Castile of Hopkinsville and Janet Blanford of Concord, N.C.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
