Omaha. Passed away at the Josie Harper Hospice Residence in Omaha. Louise was born in Omaha, the second daughter of three born to Alvin F. Bloom and Irene Mae Tetard. Louise attended Doane College, in Crete, NE; the University of Minnesota; and obtained her Degree in Child Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (then Omaha University). She lived in north Omaha continuously since the end of World War II, most recently at Immanuel Village Senior Living. Louise was preceded in death by husband Rufus L.E. Baumann. She is survived by children, Roger F. Baumann (Constance), Plymouth, MN, Marie L. Baumann Robbins (Chandler), Arlington, VA, Stuart M. Baumann (Linda Kelley), Minneapolis, MN, Stanley E. She belonged to the Swedish-American Historical Society of Chicago, the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, and the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center in Rock Island, IL. Louise was a founding member in 1976 of the board of trustees of Omaha's historic pioneer Prospect Hill Cemetery and she became the driving force in restoring the property and providing ongoing stewardship through the revitalized board. She was directly involved in publishing several books while serving on the Prospect Hill board and the Swedish Cultural Committee. Louise also was actively involved in the operations of the J.F. Bloom Monument Co., founded by her grandfather in 1879.
A RECEPTION will be held at Dundee Presbyterian Church, 55th & Underwood, Omaha, at 10am on Saturday, August 18, 2012, followed by a MEMORIAL SERVICE at 11am and a luncheon afterwards in the Church dining room.
