G.D.DePriest one of the best known residents and merchants of Lapine & formerly a successful farmer of Honoraville,died on Tuesday the 27th at 4 p.m.

He had been in ill heath for several months but still the end was a great shock to all.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and six daughters namely: Mrs.Comer Barrett of near Pigeon Creek, Mrs. W. Butler of Honoraville, Mrs. J.L. Ivey of Montgomery, Lucile and Lura DePriest.

He was interred on Wednesday at the family burying ground at Honoraville. (Crenshaw County News-November 05,1908)
