William C. Dolan, age 79, of Two Mile Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. John Steiner will officiate. Entombment in the Forest Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from 4:00-7:00 PM Sunday and Monday at the Church from 10:00-11:00 AM. There will be a Parish prayer service at 6:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Bill was born February 17, 1933 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Clifford and Eleanor (Smith) Dolan. He married Joan E. Van Ert on June 28, 1958 in Port Edwards, WI. Bill was employed at Preway Inc from 1956-1966, the CW Transport for 22 years and retired from Georgia Pacific in 1994.
Bill served in the U.S. Army where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon. Bill was a member of the VFW Post #2534 of Wisconsin Rapids, the Wisconsin Rapids Citizens for Peace and the Democratic Party. Bill enjoyed all sports, especially hunting, fishing, bowling and was a longtime devoted Green Bay Packers fan. He also loved to woodwork....
