Born April 5, 1917, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Alvin and Christine Rosche Knauss, he married Dolores Elis on Sept. 9, 1939, in Buffalo. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dr. Thomas of Bellevue, Wash., and David of Dunlap; one sister, Evelyn Dabb of Marilla, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.
He was a hospital administrator at Ionia Michigan Hospital; he retired in 1978. He was member of Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; and Masonic Lodge 46, AF&AM. Masonic services will be at 2 p.m. today at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour earlier. Cremation will be accorded, and burial of ashes will be in Parkview Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
