My grandfather Joseph Ira Caldwell,Sr. is Oscar Caldwell's half-brother. After Oscar's mother died his father married Nancy Carnahan. They had one child named Joseph Ira Caldwell. Soon after Joseph's father (Stewart Caldwell) died, his mother moved to Nebraska. Joseph was about six years old when he and his mother moved to Nebraska. I don't know if Oscar and Joseph ever knew each other, although one would have to think they did as they were both lived in Mercer County, Illinois at the same time.
My wife and I visited the farm that Nancy and Joseph farmed in Pawnee County Nebraska.
Kenneth Caldwell
