SERVICES HELD FOR MARY GERALDINE McCORMICK

Mary Geraldine McCormick, daughter of W. A. and Marie McCormick, was born May 17, 1933 on a farm near Blaine, Kansas. Mary Gene attended grammar school and one year of high school at Blaine, Kansas. Upon moving to Albuquerque, N. M. She attended and was graduated from St. Mary’s high school in 1951. After graduation she entered nurses training at St. Joseph’s hospital at Albuquerque. In the fall of 1953 she transferred from St. Joseph’s to St. Francis’ hospital, in Topeka. In December of 1953 while in her senior year of training she was stricken with a rare disease, myasthenia gravis, from which she never fully recovered. She passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital in Albuquerque on June 16, 1956. She was loved by all who knew her and suffered patiently during her illness.

Her survivors are her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McCormick, two sisters, Mrs. Marita Roeder of Emporia, Kansas; Dolores of the home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Moran of Blaine and many other relatives. Her remains were brought to the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Moran at Blaine. A Solemn Requiem High Mass was sung by her uncle Fr. Leonard L Moran on June 20. He was assisted by Fr. John Walter as deacon and Fr. Thos. Clune as sub deacon. Mass Servers were her cousins, Leo McCormick, James and Joe Moran, Joe and Francis Ryan.

Pallbearers were also cousins: Basil and Steve Moran, Joseph R Moran, Joe Malone, James and Francis Finan. She was laid to rest in the family plot in St. Columbkille’s cemetery at Blaine.
