April 29, 1921 - Tipton Adviser - Knott - Catherine Eliza Aldrich was born August 15, 1858, at Tipton, and passed away in the hospital at Clinton, IA., April 23, 1921, aged 62 years, 8 months and 8 days.
She was married to Alonzo Knott Feb. 1, 1876, to which union were born eight children, four of whom preceded her in death. Her living children are: Mrs. Chapman of Alrich, Minn.; William Knott, of Clinton; Mrs. Roy Kench of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; and Dr. H.A. Knott of West Liberty, Ia. Her husband preceded her in death more than two years ago.
She became a member of the First Presbyterian church of Tipton December 6, 1885, and continued in good standing until her removal some time later.
Being the eldest family of ten children, she made her influence felt in the rearing of the younger members of the household and leaves behind a large number of friends who join her family and relatives in mourning her decease.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of E.S. Dean Monday afternoon, April 25, by Rev. C.M. Wallace and the body was laid to rest in the Masonic Cemetery.
