LEVANT - Charlmers E. "Charm" Goodwin, 78, husband of Guyla (Byers) Goodwin, died Aug. 30, 1996, at his home in Levant. He was born July 6, 1918, in Levant, the son of Jasper and Marjorie (Libby) Goodwin. he was a member of Kenduskeag Masonic Lodge No. 137, a veteran of World War II, and was involved in five major campaigns on Italy and Africa, receiving battle stars for each campaign. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, three sons, C. Thayne Hodgdon of Minot, Leonard Hodgdon of Peekskill, N.Y., Chalmers G. Goodwin of Fishkill, N.Y., four daughters, Thaila Berry of East Corinth, Gail Bagley of Newport, Guyla Eaton of Levant, Faith Chase of Brewer; four brothers, Norman, Forrest, Jessie, and J. Fuller, all of Levant; two sisters, Dorothy Workman of Ipswich, Mass., and Florence Smith of Orlando, FL., 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St,. Bangor, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the officers of Kenduskeag Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor with pastor Mark Bruce officiating. Interment will be at Waugh Cemetery, Levant.
