Mrs Laura E Amess, 76, died Thursday at Memorial hospital. Her home was at 303 Northeast Fifth street. Mrs Amess was born on a farm near Chapman, Kansas, Jan 3, 1887, and spent her entire life in Dickinson county. She moved to Abilene in 1957 following the death of her husband, Floyd Amess.
Surviving are a son George Amess of the home: four daughters, Mrs Maxine Rider of Abilene, Mrs Grace Warn of Monrovia, Calif, Mrs Lois Chamberlin of Chapman, Mrs Laura May Altmann of Colorado Srings: one sister, Mrs Anna Jones of Talmage: two brothers, John Kolling of Chapman and W.E. Kolling (William Edward Kolling) of Abilene: nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services held by Danner Funeral home, Rev Stanley Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery.
