She is survived by a brother, J. W. Kanipe, Jr., of Bessemer City, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pink Thorne; brother, Howard W. Kanipe; sisters, Lola K. Holland, Bessie K. Lytton and Jeanette K. Coley.
