Dr. J. W. Hayward died in a Logan hospital, August 8, 1965.

He was named honorary president of the Utah State Medical Association in 1959, and was a charter member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Society.
He was born March 30, 1879, in Paris Idaho, a son of William Gammon Hayward and Ellen Neibaur Hayward. He married Lilias Budge October 11, 1905; she died in January 1943.
Dr. Hayward then married Ellen G. Farr March 30, 1945.
In June of 1905, Dr. Hayward graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo., with honors. He did postgraduate training in New York during 1926, and thereafter limited his practice to internal medicine.
He was a member of the Cache County, Utah State and American Medical Associations, and had been active in their functions.
Dr. Hayward was respected for the confidence and good will he generated among hs associates and patients in his practice of medicine and for his innate compassion.
A member of Logan 13th LDS Ward he was a High Priest in Mt. Logan Stake. He was afiliated with Logan Rotary Club.
Dr. Hayward was the father of three sons and two daughters.
