Francis "Jim" W. Smith, 77, of Hellertown, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He is the husband of Dorothy A. (Voortman) Smith. Born in Fountain Hill on May 1, 1935 to the late Walter Smith and Grace (Bright) Smith. He served our country faithfully in the US Army during Peacetime. Jim worked at the Lehigh Valley Railroad as a clerk for 30 years until retiring. He attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Pleasant Valley.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, sons, Gary L. Smith and his wife Brenda of Perkasie, Perry F. Smith and his wife LuAnn of Mt. Joy; grandchildren, Amber J. Smith of Perkasie and Master Sgt. Fred S. King, North Pole, AK; great grandson, Connor King. Predeceased by daughter, Rhonda L. Smith; and brother, Lawrence W. Smith.
