Kennerdell, October 29. J. Floyd Cross, most esteemed citizen of this place, passed away 1 a.m. Saturday, October 27, after gradual decline for more than a year. Was senior partner of general store known as Wilson Cross' Sons and with only surviving brother, Walter, have conducted the business left by their father the late Wilson Cross for many years. Has been postmaster same length of time. Was about 46 years, born here, being eldest son and third child of a family of thirteen born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Cross. Mother only preceding him to grave a few months and realized her son would soon follow her. He was married twenty years ago last August to Miss Iva Sheppard of Rockland, who survives, also one brother, Walter Cross, and three sisters, Mrs. Bert Black of Brookville, Mrs. James Buck of Oil City, and Mrs. Herman Tidball of Kennerdell. Services Monday afternoon.
