He lived in Lindale, Georgia before moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 1945. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he worked for the Platte County R-3 School District for seven years.
Alvin died May 21, 1993, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Survivors included two sons, James Moore, Millville, Missouri., and Harold Moore, Pleasant Valley in Clay County; three daughters, Virginia Mock, Smithville, Glenda McCrackin, Kansas City, and Charlotte Dalton, Parkville; two brothers, Milo Moore and Clarence Moore of Kansas City; a sister, Louvena Gentry, Kansas City, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
