They were: Walter Dean Allen was born on 30 May 1846; Henry Packard Allen was born in 1847 or in 1848; and Clara Augusta Allen was born on 19 April 1850. All the children were born in Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Benjamin married Caroline Clinthy Sylvester on 24 March 1851 in Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Caroline and Benjamin had three children. They were: Fred K. Merton Allen was born on 16 July 1853 in Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts; Louise Guild Allen was born in 1856 or in 1857 in Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts; and Martha M. Allen was born on 16 April 1861 in Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
