Headstone indexed in February, 1956 by the Chief Tusquahoma Chapter DAR for the book, "Louisiana Tombstone Inscriptions: Volume I Ouachita Parish".
Listed in the Death Certificate index as Jane Caldwell. The abstract of her death certificate states she was the daughter of John and Martha Skipper, born at Texas, Louisiana. She was 69 years old and a widow. She died at Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.
Her headstone only listed the name, DOD and age. It may have been a funeral home temporary marker, since no headstone can be found for her today. The 1956 index listed the Caldwells in this order: W.L. (a previous wife of her husband), Willie Lee (a stepson) and then Martha Jane. Her husband was not listed. It can be assumed her husband got a tombstone later and Martha was never marked. She is most likely buried next to him.
