Jimmy Lee Sheffield, 71, of Burleson, a retired machinist, passed away Tuesday February 2, 2010. Jimmy was born February 28, 1938 in Hillsboro to Jim and Bertha (Duke) Sheffield. He married Darlene Stafford on May 14, 1957 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Jimmy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was very devoted to his wife of 53 years. He loved fishing, car races and the outdoors. Jimmy also enjoyed his family time and spending time with them all especially the grandchildren. He was also very active at his church. His favorite scripture of comfort is Psalm 23.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Brenda Jones. Survivors: his wife Darlene Sheffield of Burleson: daughters Lawanda Bond and husband Paul of Burleson, Lisa Havens and husband Jeff of Burleson: son Wes Sheffield and wife Cheryl of Burleson: brother Tommy Sheffield of Hillsboro: 7 grand children and 1 great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Ft. Worth, Texas with Pastor Lanny Spruill officiating. Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Burleson was in charge of arrangements.
