Floyd Hoffner, 83, of Ault, passed away on June 5, 2012. He was born May 22, 1929 to Fred and Elizabeth (Wolf) Hoffner in Eaton, CO. He married Dorothy Greenwalt in Ault in 1949, they later divorced.

He was a longtime Ault resident and had also lived in LaGrange, WY. Floyd graduated from Ault High School and attended Colorado State University. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Lucerne, CO.

Floyd farmed the family farm west of Ault for 58 years. He retired and moved to LaGrange, WY where he acquired new and dear friends still working for various farmers and ranchers.

He was a dedicated father and grandfather, and loved supporting the kids in sports activities, 4-H and Saddle Club. He was a very active 4H and Saddle Club leader, a hard working farmer and lover of animals. He taught his family many things. Horses were his passion and he lived for wide open spaces. Farming and Ranching were his life.

He is survived by his son, Jeff (Lou) Hoffner; daughter, Vicki (Steve Brant) Hoffner; Grandchildren, Michelle (Rodney) Hoffner-Allen, Emilee (Chad) Braunsroth, and Justin (Heather) Hoffner; brothers, Melvin Hoffner and Russell "Bud" Hoffner and special friend and caregiver, Lisa Rigg, RN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elizabeth Hoffner; son, Dean Hoffner, and brother, Melvin Hoffner.

Visitation will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. with service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Cowboy Church in Lucerne, CO. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Reception at the Cowboy church to follow the graveside service.
