On Feb. 16, 1927, Ted married his high school sweetheart, Lillian "Lil" Casper. That fall, they moved to Wenatchee where be barbered for 10 years. Son Gerald was born there in 1934. In 1937, the family moved to Chelan where Ted managed a theatre. He was active in Chelan's Rotary Club, was sec. treasurer of Lake Chelan C of C, and chairman of Lake Chelan Regatta and P.N.W. swimming and diving championships.
In 1941, they moved to Anacortes where Ted had his own businesses, a bowling alley and roller rink. He was active in the Rotary Club and on the Anacortes School Board. In the spring of 1945, the family moved to Tampa, FL, for Ted to be the Asst. Mgr. of a roller rink. After a year and a half, they returned to Whatcom County and bought the roller rink in Ferndale. Ted operated that rink until 1953 when they moved to Bellingham and operated a roller rink here for 18 years, until 1971 when Ted retired.
Following Lil's death in 1990, Ted moved to The Chateau and then to Orchard Park Assisted Living Home. Ted was a life member of the Elks, member of the the Retired Public Employees, and a member of Central Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
