Father of 19 Children and two wives. James Madison was raised orphaned during the civil war. His mother (Elizabeth Huffman) union and his father (Thomas Jefferson)confederate, split upon the onset of the war. Thomas Jefferson Malone died of cholera 5 days into service and the three children of Elizabeth Huffman were farmed out and raised by separate Malone in-laws. Lor has it that James Madison was raised by John Perry Malone (his Uncle). It is believed that James Madison and his siblings went to there graves not knowing what happened to their mother. Only finding out from neighbors that she may have been raped and pillaged by carpet baggers.

James Madison is buried next to his first wife Nancy Margaret Lambert and a number of their adolescent children who died at a very young age. After Nancy passed away, James remarried to Laura Alice Clift.

According to Lula May Beller (grand daughter) James Madison was blind & deaf, had one (1) eye removed.

Elizabeth Huffman mother of James Madison is believed to have died at Fulton Missouri State Asylum around 1880. She is also believed to be buried at the Fulton Asylum Cemetery but records were burned in a fire and the grave stones have no markers or names.
