Willis Hiram Adams, 74, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. C. B. Crawford, 601 Sumter Street, at 5:20 p.m. yesterday afternoon following a serious illness of ten days. He had been in declining health for several years.

Mr. Adams, who was a retired merchant, had lived in Columbia for 40 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Crawford; one son, Fred S. Adams of Columbia; two grandchildren, Sammy and Bennie Adams and several nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Dunbar Funeral Home at 4 o'clock this afternoon by Dr. S. K. Phillips, pastor of Arsenal Hill Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be; Clarence L. Coward, Bennie Williams, J. A. Smoak, Johnnie Carol, L. B. Etheredge and George Hooper.
