Mona was born June 18, 1923 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to James Abram Abney and Cecilia Celeste Huff Abney. She grew up and attended schools in Jeffersonville.
On August 5, 1958, she married Benjamin Louis Aerts in Idaho Falls. He passed away October 31, 1969.
Mona worked at Roger Brothers, Sacred Heart Hospital, Head Start, and the Idaho Falls Senior Citizen Center. She worked at the IF Senior Center until she was 86 years old.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Eagles Lodge.
Mona enjoyed reading. She loved animals and particularly loved watching baby ducks at the river.

Daughter: Teresa (Jim) Griffith of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter: Ramona Seitzinger of Twin Falls, ID;
Daughter: Benita (George) Aerts of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Wayne Abney of Idaho Falls, ID;
22 Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, sisters, and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society of Idaho Falls (840 East Elva Street) with Pastor John Lovegrove officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
