Son of Allen G. Abbott & Anna Gowell. He was born in 1839. The birth year on his two grave markers is in error when it says "1829".

He married Martha Jane Field in 1863. Her two grave markers repeat the same error as to birth year. She was also born in 1839, although the markers say 1829. They had 3 sons:

. George Loring Abbott (1865)
+ sp: Mary Haines
. Carroll B. Abbott (1867–1869)
. Harold Luther Abbott (1874-1945)
+ sp: Maud M. Packrus
