Eleanor Beasley was born Eleanor Mae Marsh in December 17, 1916. She was the eldest child of James and Mae Marsh. The Marshes lived in Washington D.C. until she was three years old. In 1919, they moved to Mitchells Va, near Culpepper. Throughout life Eleanor fancied herself a simple 'Country Girl', enjoying the simple pleasures of gardening, sewing and knitting. Eleanor excelled, in school, and completed her RN from University of Virginia in Charlottesville, after which Eleanor came to Baltimore to work at Johns Hopkins as a nurse.

In Baltimore, she met her husband James Beasley, and they married on February 28, 1942. James went off to serve in World War II. While James was away, Eleanor gave birth to their first child, James Ross Jr. Once James returned from the war they moved to the family home on Cinder Road in 1947. Eleanor gave birth to five additional children, Carol, Barbara, Hewett, Mary Katherine and Bill. Her husband James, and her children Mary Katherine Beasley, Virginia Carol Beasley Zaccari Sunday and Barbara Jean Beasley Dalis predeceased her

Eleanor lived at Cinder Road for 57 years, she was married to 'Jimmy' for 62 years, together they had five children, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. Interment was at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be directed as a gift to Glen Meadows Foundation. Death notice published in the Baltimore Sun from 8/31/2004 - 9/1/2004
