Edward R. Boese, age 85, passed away Monday, September 6, 2004 at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. Beloved husband of Julia M. nee Janezic. Dear brother of the late Charles, Robert, George and William Boese, Clara Blaisdell, Mary Lavish, and Agnes Kurtz. Proud uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, September 10, 2004 from 10:00a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00p.m. with Rev. Young Ok Park officiating at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. [Rt. 6/159th St.] South Holland, IL. Interment Homewood Memorial Gardens - Homewood, IL. Mr. Boese was a Thornton resident for 50 years and a past village board member for 16 years. He was also a Thornton Youth Baseball coach for 30 years and was a member of American Legion Post 1070 and VFW Post 2825.
