Harvey Clifton Ayers died at his home in La Plata Saturday, December 9, after an illness of three months.
He was born west of La Plata on November 23, 1880, the son of Thomas and Emma Shoemaker Ayers and was seventy years and sixteen days old at the time of his death.
He moved with his parents to La Plata in 1919. He was never married. His father died thirty years ago and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Barry, died four years ago.
He is survived by his mother who is past ninety years old, and several cousins.
Funeral services were held from the Christian Church in La Plata Sunday afternoon, conducted by Carl Huff, Christian minister of Smithville, Missouri.
