Dies at Home in Beaverdale

Mrs. Joseph Bowser, Former Local Resident Succumbs with Complications.

Mrs. Joseph Bowser, former well known resident of this place died at her home in Beaverdale. Death being due to complications from which she suffered for a long time. She was 79 years old.

Mrs. Bowser was born in Bedford County, July 4, 1834 (sic) and had 118 descendants, including 100 grandchildren and 9 children. The children, all of whom survive are: Freeman and Samuel Bowser, Mrs. Charles Chappel, Mrs. Harry Chappel and Mrs. Thomas Ruffing all of Portage. George Bowser of Beaverdale, John Bowser of Akron, O. and Charles and William both at home.

Mrs. Bowser leaves 45 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Joseph and Samuel Wertz both of Helena, Ohio, Mrs. Harry Ritchey of Dunlo and Mrs. Jane Mowry of Pavia.

Funeral Services were conducted yesterday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Agnes Catholic Church at Beaverdale. Internment in the prospect cemetery here under the direction of Undertaker Harold Beck.
