CURWENSVILLE - Boyd Wayne Barrett, 84, of Curwensville died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

Born July 7, 1925, at Kerrmoor, Greenwood Township, he was a son of Perry and Sadie (Wiley) Barrett.

Mr. Barrett was retired as and auto body technician for Ross Buick for 41 years.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and was a former member of the Curwensville Veterans of Foreign Wars Robert Ferguson Post No. 842, and the Curwensville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 268.

He is survived by four children, Kenneth Barrett and his wife, Pat, of New Millport, Judith Rosborough and her husband, James, of Luthersburg, JoAnne McCracken and her husband, Richard, of Lumber City and Randy Barrett and his wife, Apryle, of Bells Landing; and two stepchildren, Janet Tapper and her husband, Harold, and June Pack, all of Florida; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren.

Also surviving are eight brothers and sisters, Elwood Barrett of New York, Ruth Witherite of Randolph, N.Y., Glenn Barrett and his wife, Nancy, Calvin Barrett and his wife, Virginia, and Carol Stiles, all of Curwensville RD, Yvonne Edgars and her husband, Gene of Florida, Patricia Witherite of Kerrmoor and Denny Barrett of Clearfield.

Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Beulah (Seger) Barrett; his second wife, Cora (Davis) Flemming Barrett; an infant daughter; a sister, Ethel Barrett; a brother, Delaine Barrett; two stepsons, Tom "Snuffy" Fleming II and Jeff "Flint" Fleming; and a stepdaughter, Gail Henderson.

Services will be held Thursday, March 18, at 11 a.m. at Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, with the Rev. Richard Steurnagle officiating.

Interment will follow at Friends cemetery in Grampian.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday, March 17, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March 18, from 9 a.m. until the hour of services.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 406 Pine St., Curwensville, PA 16833.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
