William David Bodenhamer was a member of the Metropolitan Nashville Davidson County Police Department. He was the first black traffic Officer in the Nashville Police Dept. William achieved the rank of Captain during his years with the dept. He was well known and well liked by all that met him. He was one of the top Police Officers in the dept. and was fair to all regardless of race creed or color. More importantly he was my friend.
