The couple fell in love in San Juan Bautista when Rocky was the town's only patrolling constable. Lorraine worked at O'Neil's General Store. They started a family in San Juan and lived in Milpitas and Stockton before settling in San Andreas, a small town in Calaveras County. Both were raised as migrant farm workers; he came from New Mexico and she was born in Arizona.
Mr. Castellano graduated from San Benito High, was an alumnus of San Jose State University, served in the army, and later earned a masters degree from the University of San Francisco. He spent 17 years in law enforcement before becoming a caseworker for developmentally disabled adults in San Andreas.
Mrs. Castellano raised four children, loved to garden and enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh.
The couple is survived by their children and spouses, Michael and Lydia Castellano of Modesto, Lauralee Castellano, Leonard Castellano and Ismael Castellano, Jr., all of Milpitas, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Castellano is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Lupe Leon of Hollister, Eulalia and Henry Morillo and Elisa and Gonzalo Martinez of Los Banos, and Ray and Mary Pedregon of San Diego.
Mr. Castellano is also survived by his mother Trinidad Castellano of Santa Clara, and his siblings and their spouses, David (Bob) and Mary Castellano of Hollister, Al and Carmen Castellano of Saratoga, Dominga and Robert Valdez of Hollister and Mary Castellano of Santa Clara.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cirilo Castellano.
Services were held on September 4th, at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home in Hollister, followed by burial at San Juan District Cemetery.
