JOHNSTON, S.C. - Graveside services for Mrs. Edith Rhoden Ripley, age 98, will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Mt. of Olives Cemetery at 11 am. The family will receive friends at the gravesite following the service. Bland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mrs. Ripley, a native of Johnston, died Sunday, July 29, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Tolbert and Leila Derrick Rhoden. Mrs. Rhoden was a graduate of Johnston High School and retired as clerk at Fletcher Derrick s Grocery in Johnston. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter Annie Rae Padgett and her husband Frank; grandson: Franklin E. Padgett; sister: Rae R. Phinney; sister-in-law: Annie Lewis R. Hall and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband: Ellison Ripley; her mother and father; sister: Chloe R. Cullum and brothers: Buddy and Lewis Rhoden. Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church Stained Glass Window Fund, 1701 Hwy 191, Johnston, SC 29832.
