Ruth Mae Smith Thompson passed from this life into the arms of her Father in Heaven on September 9, 2004, after a long illness. Born to Charles Coulson and Manon Lyman Smith on June 5, 1915, in Salt Lake City.

She was the granddaughter of Joseph F. and Alice Kimball Smith. One of her earliest experiences at three years was sitting on the lap of Joseph F Smith and playing with his beard.

Married Max Allan Thompson on April 28, 1934. He died on March 3, 1995. Ruth was a strong woman with a great sense of humor.

She was generous to a fault. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. Past President of the American Business Woman's Association (ABWA).

Survived by five children: Maureen Haskins, Max Alan, Patricia Ann (Ken) Henderson, Norman C. (Wanda), and Marion; 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles C. (Polly) Smith, and a sister, Betty (Wes) McDonald. Preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jeffrey Morrison and Bryce Norman Thompson; sisters, Marion and Rhoda, and brothers, Stanley and Max.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 11th at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 S. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
