Mrs. Charles Lofton Dies in St. Joseph

Mrs. Charles G. Lofton, 56, died at 3 a.m. today in her home in St. Joseph following an illness of about two years. The body is at the Freese funeral home here, but arrangements for the funeral are incomplete.
Born on a farm south of St. Joseph July 3, 1889, she was the daughter of Clayborn and Emma Jenkins Test and lived all her life in this community. She was married to Mr. Lofton in December, 1910, at Urbana.
Mrs. Lofton leaves her husband of St. Joseph and six children; Milo Lofton, Chicago; Mrs. Laverne Perryman, St. Joseph; Mrs. LaVora Foreman, Sidney; Mrs. Alta Mae Flick, Indianapolis, Ind.; Mrs. Doris Jean Parrish, St. Joseph, and Clayborn Lofton, serving in the armed forces in the Pacific area.
She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Emma Test, St. Joseph; three sisters, Mrs. Maude McCall, Washington, Ill.; Mrs. Alta Wertz and Mrs. Phebe Tibble, both of Decatur; one brother, Clarence R. Test, Urbana, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held in the Freese Funeral home, and burial will be in Patterson cemetery here.
