Mrs. Carrie Martin

Mrs. Carrie Ethel Joyce Martin, 87, of Rt. 4, Koehler, died Sunday at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
Born Aug. 12, 1898, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry Joyce and Lucy Jane Joyce.
Her husband was the late Harbour Martin.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lucy M. Rakes of Stanleytown, Mrs. Inez M. Vernon of Martinsville, and Mrs. Glennis (Peggy) Young of Sydnorsville; two sons, Glynn Martin of Glendale, Calif. and Harold W. Martin of Martinsville; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Wade of Martinsville, Mrs. Madeline Spencer of Bassett and Mrs. Myrtle Hutcherson of South Carolina; 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stone Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
