Jeremiah Tight Jerry' Combs was the natural son of Chunky Jerry Combs and Matilda Combs. He married Julia Ann Combs, daughter of John Lorenzo and Polly Combs. Jeremiah lived on Troublesome Creek in Knott Co. between Emmalena and Clear Fork Road. They were the parents of ten children, seven of which were surviving at the time of his passing.

Regarding change in date of death...His obituary appeared in the Lexington Herald on Friday, July 10. It stated: Uncle Jerry Combs...died this morning...Funeral was on July 11. The death certificate wasn't filed until December and appears to have the wrong date on it. There was an obituary in an Indiana paper that appeared July 28 which was basically a re-reporting of the previous one.
